GRANT–Fremont’s Jordon McDonald proved to be too much to handle for Grant on Tuesday night.

In the end, the Packers gained a 65-56 victory over the Tigers in a non-conference game.

Fremont is now on a four-game winning streak.

McDonald recorded a double-double with a team-high 16 points and 14 rebounds. Joining him in double digits was Gavin Richards with 12 points and Chaz Miller with 10 points. Richards and Miller each grabbed nine rebounds. Miller had four steals and seven assists.

“Grant came out strong in the first quarter and took a seven-point lead, but we battled back to cut the lead to one by the end of the quarter,” said Fremont coach Adam Bowen. “I thought we played some of our best basketball this year in the second and third quarters and were up 17 heading into the fourth. We got a little sloppy in the fourth quarter and Grant was able to make a run to pull within seven points.

“To our kids’ credit, we were able to keep them at bay to earn a good road win,” Bowen said. “I thought we played with great effort again, which has been the key to our recent success. ”

Fremont (8-4, 3-3) will host Ludington Friday.

Grant (7-7, 4-3) will travel to Tri-County next Tuesday.
