WYOMING–The Mona Shores boys basketball team got off to a quick start, but could not maintain the momentum on Tuesday night.

The visiting Sailors came up on the short end of a 71-58 OK Conference-Green decision.

The Sailors got off to a quick start as they raced out to a 24-16 lead by the end of the first quarter. Mona Shores held the lead at the halftime break, 39-32.

Wyoming dominated the second half, outscoring the Sailors 18-9 in the third period and 21-10 during the final eight minutes.

Ryan Opsommer and JT Foster led Mona Shores with 15 points each. Jayden Smith tossed in 11 points. Foster had a team-high 12 rebounds. Opsommer also contributed six steals and four assists.

Mona Shores (4-12, 1-8) will host Grand Rapids Union on Friday.
