NORTON SHORES–The Mona Shores Sailors girls basketball team dropped a hard-fought OK Conference-Green game at home to the Wyoming Wolves on Tuesday evening, 44-39.

The two teams ended in a 12-12 tie by the end of the first quarter. Wyoming went on to take a 22-18 halftime lead.

The Sailors cut the Wyoming lead down to one, 32-31, going into the fourth quarter. However, the Wolves hung on for the five-point win by outscoring Mona Shores 12-8 during the final eight minutes.

Laynie Russell led Mona Shores with 12 points. Logan Clausen tossed in eight points while Ali Phillips chipped in seven points.

Mona Shores (10-7, 5-4) will travel to Grand Rapids Union on Friday.
