MUSKEGON–The battle of the top two teams in the OK-Green Conference was captured by the Muskegon Big Reds on Friday night. 

Jordan Briggs scored a game-high 22 points and led the Big Reds to a 60-47 win over Zeeland West in a game played at Potter-Redmond Gymnasium.

Briggs carried the load for Muskegon in the opening quarter with 14 points, including four shots from beyond the arc. The Big Reds had a 22-11 lead after one quarter.

Muskegon went into the half with a 34-22 lead.

Both teams struggled offensively during the third quarter. The Dux were able to narrow the gap to 39-30 heading into the final quarter.

Briggs scored nine points in the final eight minutes and the Big Reds went 12-of-17 from the free-throw line down the stretch to secure the win and remain perfect in league action.

Joining Briggs in double digits was Anthony Sydnor III with 11 points. M’Khi Guy contributed nine points while Stanley Cunningham chipped in six points.

Muskegon (15-1, 10-0) travels to Grand Rapids Union on Tuesday.
