MUSKEGON–The Muskegon Catholic Crusaders got off to a hot start and went on to a 40-21 victory over the Wyoming Lee Legends.

The hot start included racing out to a 18-4 lead after the first eight minutes of play and then shutting down the Wyoming Lee offense in the second stanza, 6-0, to take a 24-4 lead at the half.

MCC led 35-8 after three quarters.

“We got off to the quick start, which allowed us to rotate some bodies in and get some of our bench girls a lot of valuable playing time,” MCC coach Adam Callow said. “The quick start was big, especially after playing last night as well.”

Carrie Ladd led the Crusaders with 15 points. Claire LaVigne added 11 points. Natalie Rich contributed six points.

Muskegon Catholic (6-12, 2-4) will travel to Potters House Christian on Friday.
