FREMONT — The North Muskegon Norsemen outscored the host Fremont Packers in a big way over the final three quarters and gained a 66-41 victory.
 
The teams came out a big sluggish in the opening quarter and it showed in the 6-all score after one quarter. But, from that point on, North Muskegon built its lead. It was 22-16 at the half and 44-31 after three quarters.
 
“Fremont started the third with a 3-pointer and a three-point play to cut into the lead, but that is when Troy (McManus) got hot from three,” said NM coach Chuck Rypstra. McManus had 14 of his 24 points in the third quarter.
 
McManus also had six rebounds. Carsen Moat and Adam Dugener had eight points each for the Norsemen. Denny Belmonte had four assists while Ben Meyers had four assists and three steals.
 
Jordon McDonald had 12 points to lead Fremont.
 
North Muskegon (16-4, 8-3) plays at White Cloud on Thursday.
 
Fremont (9-9, 4-5) is scheduled to travel to Wyoming Potter’s Hous Christian on Wednesday evening.
