FREMONT–The Oakridge Eagles rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit on Tuesday evening and posted a 61-58 win over Fremont in a West Michigan Conference Lakes Division contest.

The Packers raced out to a 20-12 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended the lead to 37-25 at the half.

Oakridge chipped away at the lead in the third period by outscoring Fremont 17-12, That cut the Packers’ lead to 49-42 with a quarter to play.  The Eagles completed the comeback with a 19-9 fourth-quarter scoring edge.

Peyton Ruel led Oakridge with 17 points, eight assists and four steals. Matt Danicek scored 15 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists. Evan Jozsa chipped in 12 points and hauled down five rebounds. Evan Miller contributed nine points. Ty Maitland collected seven rebounds.
 
“I thought we played much harder than we have the last couple of games,” said Fremont coach Adam Bowen. “Second-half turnovers ended up costing us, but I was pleased with the effort.” 
 
Chaz Miller led Fremont with a game high 21 points, six assists and five rebounds. Jordon McDonald tossed in 19 points and grabbed five rebounds while Gavin Richards chipped in 10 points. Will DeBlake contributed eight points.
 
Oakridge (7-10, 4-5) will host Orchard View on Friday.
 
Fremont (8-7, 3-5) will host Montague on Friday.
