KENT CITY — Jayden Perrone scored 25 points to lead the Mason County Central Spartans to a 51-40 victory over Kent City.

It was a back-and-forth game from the start, with Kent City leading 11-10 after one and the Spartans taking a 20-17 lead at the half.
 
The Eagles finished the third with an 11-6 edge and entered the fourth quarter with a slim 28-26 advantage. The Spartans pulled away with a 23-12 final period.
 
Will Chye followed with 16 points. He also had six rebounds, four assists and four steals.
 
Kent City was led by Nick Rode and Jaret Jaramillo with eight points apiece while Jake Perry scored seven.
 
“We couldn’t put the ball in the basket. Simple as that We didn’t make a single three the entire game,” said Kent City head coach David Ingles.
 
Mason County Central (11-4, 5-2) hosts Holton in a conference game Thursday night.
 
The Eagles (7-6, 5-2) are scheduled to travel to Orchard View Tuesday night.
