Sain, Davis lead Muskegon Lady Big Reds over Zeeland East

MUSKEGON–The Muskegon Lady Big Reds kept their hold on the top spot in the OK Conference-Green as they cruised past the visiting Zeeland East Chix on Tuesday, 42-29.

Muskegon, which shares the top spot with Reeths-Puffer, hit seven shots from beyond the arc and nine players found the scoring column for the Lady Big Reds.

Mariah Sain led the way with a game high 17 points. Ty’veonna Davis tossed in 11 points.

The Big Reds got out to a 13-8 lead by the end of the first period and extended their lead to 25-14 by halftime.

Any chances of Zeeland East making a comeback were quickly dashed in the third quarter as Muskegon outscored the Chix 17-4 to take a commanding 41-18 lead into the fourth quarter.

Muskegon (11-6, 8-1) will travel to Zeeland West on Friday.
