HAMILTON–Zach Schlepp scored a career-high 28 points and Spring Lake converted 23-of-30 free throws on Friday evening as they beat Hamilton, 74-64, in an OK Conference-Blue contest.
 
The Lakers hit 18-of-23 free throws in the fourth quarter and withstood a furious Hamilton comeback after the Lakers had built a 19-point third-quarter lead.
 
Spring Lake got off to a good first half start and led 14-10 after the first quarter. The Lakers increased their lead to 30-22 by the half.
 
The Lakers held a slim 21-19 third period scoring advantage before both teams scored 23 points during the final eight minutes.
 
Colin Burt and Carter Ball each scored 10 points for Spring Lake.
 
The Hawkeyes hit 13 shots from beyond the arc.
 
Spring Lake (10-8, 7-5) will host Fruitport on Tuesday evening.
