SPRING LAKE–The Spring Lake Lakers fell victim to a hot-shooting Coopersville team on Friday night.

The end result was a 57-53 overtime loss to the Broncos, who made 10 shots from beyond the 3-point arc.

Spring Lake trailed 13-11 after one period, but battled back in the second quarter to take a 22-19 lead into halftime.

The Lakers maintained a one-point lead (36-35) heading into the fourth quarter. Coopersville was able to tie the game at 48-all at the end of regulation then outscored the Lakers 9-5 in the extra period to secure the victory.

Brooke Bolthouse led Spring Lake with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists. Ella Andree also reached double figures with 10 points and five rebounds. Andree fouled out with 3:30 remaining in regulation.

Tessa Britt had another solid game with nine points and six rebounds. Alexa Carter had seven points and four rebounds.

Dannyka Johnson had 18 points, including four 3-pointers to lead the Broncos. Evelyn McEachen added 14 points, including a trio of 3-pointers.
 
Spring Lake (7-7, 3-5) travels to Grand Rapids West Catholic on Tuesday.
