FRUITPORT — After a sluggish start, the Spring Lake Laker girls got rolling and earned a 62-18 victory over the host Fruitport Trojans.

Spring Lake led 6-4 after the first quarter, but from then on, it was all Lakers. That surge included a 21-0 run in the fourth quarter to finish off the game.

Ella Andree led the Lakers (9-10, 5-8) with 15 points, three steals and two assists. Alexa Carter added 13 points and eight rebounds while Tessa Britt chipped in eight points and three rebounds. Annie Kipling had six points on a pair of 3-pointers.

Fruitport was led by Ash Olson with seven points and Grace Sweet with six.

Fruitport (4-17, 0-13) hosts Hudsonville Unity Christian on Friday.

Spring Lake will finish the regular season Friday night at home against Allendale in the first game of the girls/boys varsity double-header. The Lakers will be celebrating Senior Night.
