ZEELAND–The Mona Shores Sailor defense put the clamps down on the Zeeland East Chix on Friday night.

The Sailors posted a 46-26 OK Conference-Green victory over the host Chix.

The Sailors led 13-8 after the first quarter and extended their lead to 23-12 by halftime.

Mona Shores held a 9-3 scoring edge in the third period and closed out the game with a 15-11 scoring margin during the final eight minutes.

Khaleeya Cook had 13 points for the Sailors. Ali Phillips added 10 points. Laynie Russell scored seven points.

The Chix were led by Emily Wierenga with 13 points.

Mona Shores (12-8, 7-5) hosts Reeths-Puffer on Tuesday.
