WALKERVILLE–The Walkerville Wildcats hosted the Lakeview Wildcats on Monday evening and came out on the short end of a 55-45 decision in a non-league contest.

The Wildcats are looking at a tough week ahead as they’ll hit the court again on Wednesday and Friday.

Walkerville got off to a solid start and led 15-13 after one quarter. The Wildcats led 31-29 at halftime.

Lakeview came from behind in the second half as they outscored the Wildcats 10-4 in the third period and 16-10 in the final eight minutes.

“We started out good in the first half and then we had too many turnovers and missed lay ups in the second half that took us out of the game,” said Walkerville coach Lee Oomen.

Collin Chase led Walkerville offense 14 points and seven rebounds. Connor Shafer tossed in nine points.

Walkerville (1-13, 0-10) will host Bear Lake on Wednesday.
