“On our senior night, we were able to outlast a scrappy Newaygo team,” said White Cloud Coach Caleb Wilk. “We came out with a bit more energy and purpose in the second half.”

Tonight, I felt like we came out extremely flat,” said Will. “These snow-day games can really go either way, but I was not happy with our effort or our execution in the first half.”

“We had some leaders step up at halftime which really set us up for a better second half. We settled down a bit and made less mental mistakes in the half, and that is ultimately what won us the game.”

Gaby Reeve led the White Cloud offense with 15 points. Jaden Gomez added eight points and Jolena Deaton chipped in 4 points and eight rebounds.

Naomi Schillman led Newaygo with 14 points and Addison Goodin chipped in six points and seven rebounds.

White Cloud (8-7, 4-4) will next host Holton Tuesday while Newaygo (4-13, 2-6) travels to Ravenna on Monday.
