NORTON SHORES — The Western Michigan Christian Warriors overcame a double-digit deficit and roared back for a 61-47 victory over the visiting Fruitport Calvary Christian Eagles.

Calvary had a 33-18 lead before the Warriors used a 37-13 second-half scoring advantage to flip the score in their favor.

“Well, we played a good first half,” Eagles coach Brad Richards said. “We were embarrassed in the second half. I should have made better adjustments as a coach to help our guys finish the game stronger. It was a very disappointing game for us.”

The Warriors fought back in the second half behind the play of Jared Olsen and WMC big mag, Kevin Jackson.

Jared Olsen led WM Christian with 22 points while Jackson scored all eight of his points in the second half.

WMC was also paced by Caleb Techema with nine points while Ben Moorhead and Eli Malek each scored seven points.

Sam Zelenka had 15 points to lead Calvary. Quinn Swanson added 14. Bradley Richard, who averages 27 points a game, was limited to just 10.

The Warriors (4-12) travel to Covenant Christian next Friday.

Calvary Christian (10-6, 3-2) is at Potters House next Tuesday.
