LAKEVIEW–Kent City began what it hopes is a long tournament run with a 49-22 victory over Holton on Wednesday night.
The Division 3 district semifinal game was played at Lakeview.
The Eagles (19-4) will now face Morley-Stanwood, a team they defeated twice during the regular season. Morley-Stanwood (15-5) defeated Ravenna in its semifinal game, 32-24.
Friday’s title game is set for 7 p.m.
Early on both offenses struggled as Kent City held a slim 9-8 lead after the first quarter. From that point on, it was all Kent City as they outscored Holton 17-4 during the second quarter to take a 26-12 lead at the half.
The Eagles extended their lead to 39-18 after three and closed out the final eight minutes with a 10-4 scoring advantage.
