NORTON SHORES — Mona Shores senior Jaxon Huffman turned in a dominating pitching performance on Tuesday and led the Sailors to a 3-0 victory over visiting Oakridge.
Huffman pitched six innings and allowed just one hit. He struck out 10 and did not allow a walk.
Javanni Johnson came on in the seventh inning and earned the save. He struck out two.
Mona Shores (2-0) plated two runs in the bottom of the first inning on singles by Johnson and Isaac Habetler. Johnson finished with two hits for the Sailors. Brady Recnagel had a hit, a walk and scored a run.
