HOLLAND — It’s called the Second Chance swim meet and the Ludington boys swimming team’s 200-yard freestyle squad took advantage with a state qualifying effort Tuesday in Holland.

The Orioles’ quartet of Kyle Wendt, Lucas Peterson, Owen Kasley and Ignacio Molina finished the event with a time of 1:34. 54 and extended their season.

Kasley, Peterson, Lucas Miller and Molina also had a chance to punch their ticket to the finals in the 200-yard medley relay, but missed the cut for state.

Also competing in the meet with a chance to make it to state were Rowen Vaara in the 200 freestyle and Dylan Sniegowski in the 50. They also failed to make the finals.

Ludington competes in the MHSAA regional diving meet in Hamilton on Thursday (today).
