FRUITPORT — It took just one quarter for Muskegon Catholic to gain the momentum on Wednesday night in their Division 4 district semifinal game against Libertas Christian.

MCC carried that momentum through to the end in a 57-17 victory. The Crusaders will take on host Fruitport Calvary Christian with a district title on the line at 7 p.m. Friday.

On Wednesday, MCC led 15-2 after one quarter, 30-11 at the half and 53-15 after three quarters.

Claire LaVigne poured in 25 points for lead the Crusaders. Carrie Ladd added 10.

“The quick start allowed us to rotate a lot of girls and get all of our girls a little bit of playoff experience,” MCC coach Adam Callow said.
