BALDWIN — Pentwater’s season came to an end Friday night in the Division 4 district finals with a 62-36 loss to the host Baldwin Panthers.

Pentwater trailed 16-9 at the end of the first quarter and was outscored 12-7 in the second to head into the half facing a 28-16 deficit.
 
The Panthers (22-1) exploded for a 24-9 third-quarter run and Pentwater trailed 52-25 heading into the fourth quarter. The Falcons had an 11-10 edge in the final eight minutes.
 
“We had a terrific season, with tremendous growth each week,” said Pentwater coach Ashley Lubera. “The boys showed up again tonight and displayed incredible hustle and grit. The entire team was locked in the mission to upset a well-balanced Baldwin team and gave it everything they had.”
 
Will Werkema-Grondsma led the way for the Falcons with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Jonny Arnouts, Kaleb Brown and James Davis added six apiece. The Falcons were 9-of-14 at the free-throw line.
 
Mikey Carlson hauled down six rebounds and Brown had four. Arnouts dished out two assists and came away with four steals. Werkema-Grondsma had three steals.
 
Pentwater finished the season 11-13.
