FREMONT — The Whitehall Vikings hit the glass hard on Tuesday night and defeated the Fremont Packers 68-50.

“I thought we played really hard and competed against a very good team,” Fremont coach Wes Zerlaut said. “We gave up way too many offensive rebounds, which is something we’ve been working on, but we still need to be much better in that area.”

Camden Thompson led Whitehall with 23 points and 23 rebounds, of which 12 came on the offensive end. Jack Houtemann added 20 points and Kai Koehler had 15 points and eight rebounds. In all, Whitehall had 20 offensive rebounds.

Whitehall led 40-25 at the half and outscored the hosts 28-25 in the second half.

Fremont’s Jordon McDonald had another solid game with 29 points, five rebounds, three blocks and two steals.  Chaz Miller added seven points, 11 assists, six rebounds and four steals. Gavin Richards added six points and 10 rebounds.

Whitehall (16-5, 10-1) will host Orchard View on Thursday.

Fremont (9-11, 4-6) will travel to Manistee on Thursday.
