BENZONIA — David Shillinger had a special night for the Ludington boys basketball team with 34 points as the Orioles pulled out a thrilling 77-65 overtime win over host Benzie Central.

Matthew Westhouse poured in 20 points for the Orioles while Aiden Gilchrist chipped in eight.
 
The Huskies were led by Myles Pritchett with 24 points and Jaxon Childers added 18.
 
Ludington was outscored, 16-12, in the first quarter and 13-11 in the second. The Orioles went to the locker room at the half trailing, 29-23.
 
But the Orioles regrouped during the break and charged out for a 23-15 third quarter that vaulted them into a 46-44 lead. Benzie came back in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Orioles, 19-18 to tie the game, 64-64.
 
The Orioles dominated the overtime period, outscoring the Huskies, 14-2.
 
Ludington improved its record to 20-2 overall and finished 11-1 in the West Michigan Conference Lakes Division. The Orioles open play in the Division 2 district at Big Rapids at 5:30 p.m. Monday night against the host Cardinals.
