ALLENDALE — Spring Lake’s girls basketball team lost to Allendale, 27-23, in the Division 2 district final in Allendale on Friday night.

It snapped a three-game winning streak that included a solid 53-56 win over Hudsonville Unity Christian in the district semifinals.

The Lakers struggled shooting the ball and finishing just 23 percent from the floor, which included a paltry 1-of-15 from 3-point range. At the free-throw line, the Lakers were 4-of-15.

Alexa Carter and Tessa Britt scored eight points apiece to lead the Lakers. Carter also grabbed eight rebounds and Britt managed to snag six boards.

Spring Lake loses two seniors off this year’s team, Noor Baria and Emma Nicles.

“We thank them both for the contributions they have made to our team this year and wish them the best of luck as they move on to their next journey,” said Spring Lake coach Rich Hyde.

The Lakers finished 11-11.
