FRUITPORT — Want to talk about a second-half surge?
The Spring Lake Lakers unloaded in the second half and turned a one-point halftime deficit into a 74-39 rout of the Oakridge Eagles.
Spring Lake advances to the Division 2 title game at 7 p.m. Friday against the host Fruitport Trojans, which knocked off Whitehall in the other semifinal game.
Oakridge had the hot hand in the first half and enjoyed a 15-10 lead after one quarter and 25-24 at the half.
But the second half was a whole different story as Spring Lake outscored Oakridge 52-14 and turned the game into a rout. The Lakers outscored the Eagles 26-6 in the third quarter and 24-8 in the fourth.
Eli Morrison led Spring Lake (13-8) with 23 points. Zane Stahl added 16 and Wren Dephouse had 12.
Oakridge finished the season 11-13.
