MUSKEGON–Former Muskegon Big Red and LSU Tiger Anthony Bradford is seeing his stock rise for the upcoming NFL Draft.
This year’s draft will be April 27-29 in Kansas City.
Listed at 6-foot-4 and 322 pounds, Bradford was a standout performer at the NFL Combine held in Indianapolis Feb. 28 – March 6. Among his highlights was a fourth-best time of 1.74 seconds in the 10-yard split among offensive linemen.
This week, Bradford, a top-30 prospect, will be making his way through his fair share of airport terminals as he is being hosted by five NFL teams.
On Tuesday Bradford was hosted by the Minnesota Vikings. From there, he went to meet with the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday. Thursday, he is set to be visit the Carolina Panthers. His next stop will be with the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs before making a final trip out west to visit with the Seattle Seahawks.
“I can’t complain,” said Bradford on Thursday morning as he was getting ready to meet with the coaching staff and general manager of the Carolina Panthers. “The process is really going good and I feel like my stock is rising and going up. Later today, I’ll be headed to Kansas City before my last stop in Seattle.”
As for the upcoming draft Bradford said, “It doesn’t matter where I go. I’ll go and showcase my talents. Right now, I’m getting a chance to do that with everybody I meet with.”
The top-30 visits are opportunities for teams to host prospects at their facilities and get to know them better. They can undergo cognitive testing, medical examinations, tour team facilities and meet with coaches and front office staff. The Kansas City Chiefs also had a formal visit with Bradford at the combine.
Bradford was instrumental in the turnaround of LSU football as the Tigers reached the SEC Championship game this past season. LSU went on to beat Purdue 63-7 in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl.
