SPRING LAKE — Hamilton handed the Spring Lake boys its first league loss on the track Thursday.

Hamilton posted a 94-43 victory over the host Lakers.

One high point for the Lakers was the 4 x 800 team of Ethan Grevengoed, Luke Glasgow, Parker Woodwyk, and Tanner Guczwa with a school record time of 8:02.84. That record had stood since 1985. Gucwa’s 1:56.60 anchor split made it possible to edge Hamilton by just over 1 second.

Tober grabbed two individual firsts in the hurdle events, coming in at 15.16 in the 110 highs and a career best 39.93 in the 300 lows. Caden Kyser had a strong 400, winning in a personal best 51.11. Jackson Gee, Tober, Kyser, and Darrel Lawrence picked up a win in the 4 x 200-meter relay. Gee also scored second place in both the 100 meter and 200-meter dashes, running personal bests in both events (11.21 and 22.94, respectively). Kyser was right behind Gee in the 200, finishing third in 23.41, another personal best.

In the field events, Josh Lanka threw a career best 131-1 in the discus for first place. Also in the discus, Noah VanDreumel took third place with a throw of 115-0, also a personal best. Adetunji Adams placed second in the high jump at 5-6 and Jason Liu placed third in the long jump (17-9.5)  for the Lakers.
