Division 1-2 all-area girls basketball team announced by Local Sports Journal

MUSKEGON– The Local Sports Journal has released its all-area girls basketball team for Division 1-2 for the recently completed season.

The battle for the OK-Green title went right down to the bitter end between the Reeths-Puffer Rockets and the Muskegon Lady Big Reds. In the end, the Rockets held on and earned the league title.

With that result, the Rockets had three members of their team make the LSJ Dream Team. That included Ariel Walker, Sophia Hekkema and Coach Rodney Walker.

Here are the results of the LSJ all-area teams for Division 1-2.

Division 1-2 Girls Basketball Dream Team

Rodney Walker – Reeths-Puffer, Coach

Ariel Walker – Reeths-Puffer

Sophia Hekkema – Reeths-Puffer

Ty’Veonna Davis – Muskegon

Mariah Sain – Muskegon

Mona Shores junior Khaleeya Cook averaged 12.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
