The Fremont Packers had little trouble taking down the Hesperia Panthers in a non-league softball doubleheader on Monday.

The Packers won the opener 18-3 and the second game, 19-2.

In the first game, Fremont racked up 17 hits. Mckenzie Gugins led the Packers’ hitting attack with a single, a triple and four RBI. Rainee Dey-Rayl, Savannah Keur, Elise Pfeiffer and Sage Vandenberg also had strong games at the plate.

In the second game, the Packers got off to a quick start when Keur drive in a pair of runs with a first-inning single. The Packers added eight runs in the fifth inning. Pfeiffer, Izabel Austin, Hanna Melo, Gugins, Ava Cook, and Maddie Baden all drove in runs.

Gugins pitched the second game and surrendered two runs on two hits over five innings. She struck out eight.

Fremont hosts Oakridge at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in a key conference matchup.
