FRUITPORT–The Fruitport Trojans won the first game and the Coopersville Broncos claimed the nightcap in an OK-Blue baseball doubleheader on Tuesday.

Fruitport won the first game, 6-1. Coopersville won the nightcap, 4-0.

Ryan Bosch singled in the first run for the Trojans, which came back with four more runs in the fourth. Trevor Rusnak, Ricky Wiggins and Jax Flynn all had RBIs in that key inning.

Christian Kennedy and Tommy Anderson had two hits each for Fruitport.

Bosch allowed one run on six hits in seven innings of work. He had 12 strikeouts and walked one.

Kennedy was on the mound for Fruitport in the second game. He allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings. He had two strikeouts. Flynn pitched one inning in relief.

Avery Lambers had two hits to lead Fruitport.

“Our pitching was solid once again and we played pretty clean on the defensive side as well,” Fruitport coach Nick Reed said. “Our hitting and plate approach was a lot better today and continues to improve every game.”
