MUSKEGON — If anyone left Friday night’s baseball game at Marsh Field a bit early, thinking that Reeths-Puffer had the game won, well … you should have stuck around for the wild seventh inning.

The Fruitport Trojans trailed 5-0 heading into the top of the seventh, and final, inning. But a 10-run uprising carried Coach Nick Reed’s team to a 10-5 victory in a game played under the lights at historic Marsh Field.

The top of the seventh included a pair of bases-loaded walks then a Braxton Ward sacrifice fly. With two out, Christian Kennedy singled and that was followed by a two-run single by Ryan Bosch that tied the game.

An error, an RBI-single by Andrew Spyke and a two-run triple by Jax Flynn and just that quick, Fruitport had a five-run lead.

Ward was credited with the victory for Trojans. Ward surrendered no runs on one hit over 1 2/3 innings with one strikeout and no walks.

Catcher Earnest led Reeeths-Puffer with three hits, one a double. Holden Earnest suffered the loss on the mound.

Fruitport is now 5-7.
