HART — Blake Weirich turned in a dominating pitching performance as Hart had little trouble dispatching Lake City 15-0 in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday.

Game 2 was a bit more difficult, but the Pirates came away with a 4-2 win.

Weirich finished the game with 11 strikeouts.

Kyan Clark belted a three-run home run that set the tone. He finished the game with seven RBI.

Noah Smith and Carter Ramseyer each had multiple-hit games for the Pirates, and Weirich got into the act with a two-run base hit.

In the nightcap, the Pirates received a blow when freshman catcher Halen Boos suffered a wrist injury in the first inning.

Ty Schlukebir toed the rubber for the Pirates and threw a no-hitter through four innings with eight strikeouts. Avery Guikema finished the game and picked up the save.

Ramseyer had two hits to pace the offense, while Smith and Schlukebir each had run-producing hits.
