GRAND RAPIDS–The Holton Red Devils dropped an 8-6 softball decision to Grand Rapids Covenant Christian in the first game of a non-league doubleheader.

Apparently, that result was not sit too well with the Red Devils, who came back in the nightcap for a 22-3 victory over the Chargers. In that game, the Red Devils belted four home runs, including two grand slams.

In the opener, Ryann Robbin led Holton with three hits, including a double. Sydney McCormick had two hits, one of which as a double, and Grace Thompson had two doubles.

In the nightcap, Holton ended the game with 10 runs in the top of the sixth inning. 

Abby Fowler led the hitting attack with four hits, including two home runs, one a grand slam, and a double. In all, she had four hits and 10 RBI. Robins also hit a grand slam homer. Kenzie Green had four hits, including one home run and two doubles. She had three RBI. Thompson had two hits.

Green was the winning pitcher.
