KENT CITY — Jacee Hoffman pitched a no-hitter in the opener and the Kent City Eagles scored 10 runs in the third inning of the nightcap and swept a doubleheader from Tri-County on Tuesday.

The Eagles won the first game, 8-0, and the second game, 13-3 in five innings.

Hoffman, an Alma commit, struck out 13 in seven innings of work. Leading hitters were Jade Mortensen with two hits, one a double, and freshman Lylah Larson with a pair of hits. Hannah Stellini had a triple.

In the nightcap, the Eagles plated 10 runs in the third inning and finished the game in the fifth due to the mercy rule.

Lexie Bowers had four hits, including a triple and a double. She also had four RBI. Abby Pecynski had two hits and two RBI. Laynee Hoffman added two hits and Jacee Hoffman knocked in three runs.
