Kent City scores early, takes down Orchard View in nonleague baseball

KENT CITY — The host Kent City Eagles plated nine runs in the second inning and cruised to a 15-3 baseball victory over the Orchard View Cardinals on Thursday.

After scoring nine runs in the second, the Eagles added four more in the third.

Troy Atwood, Webb Longcore and Derek Rodenburg led Kent City with three hits each. Longcore knocked in three runs. Kyler Larson added two hits and three RBI.

In all, Kent City had 12 hits.
