RAVENNA — Ludington snapped a two-game losing streak with a 2-0 girls soccer victory over Ravenna in West Michigan Conference action Monday.

It was the third straight loss for the host Bulldogs, all of them by shutout.

“We really controlled the game,” said Ludington coach Kris Anderson. “We outshot them and outplayed them. We had a lot of chances and a lot of opportunities to bust the game open. It could easily have been more lopsided, but we were just a little bit off finishing on some shots. A very well played game except for the finishing piece.”

The Orioles took a 1-0 lead at halftime when Ashley Stowe sent a bullet past the keeper, and Maddison Martin tallied the other inside five minutes left in the second half.

Grace Ashley was in goal for the Orioles in the first half and saved all five shots she faced. Cambrian Britton took over in net the second half and stopped all seven shots.

Ludington (3-6-0, 2-2 WMC) is scheduled to host archrival Manistee in another conference game on Wednesday.

Ravenna (1-4-1, 0-3 WMC) hits the road Wednesday for a conference game at Hart.
