LUDINGTON–Ludington hosted a West Michigan dual track meet on Tuesday afternoon in sunny, but cold weather conditions.

In girls’ action Manistee defeated Ludington 80-57 and Fremont 111-21. Ludington got by Fremont 94-41.

The Fremont girls did not run a full team on Tuesday due to several injuries.

Top performances included the 4×400 team of Victoria Ekkel, Rachel Maddox, Joelle Patten and Rocquel Richards. Linnea Paige won the 3,200 with a personal beast of 12:13.20. Victoria Ekkel finished second in the 100, Arie Beecham finished second in the discus, Ariana Tanner was second in long jump and Rachel Maddox finished third in the high jump.

No other individual results were available.

In boys’ action Ludington defeated Manistee, 101-36, and Fremont, 71.5-65.5. Fremont cruised by Manistee, 98.5-37.5

The meet against Ludington came down to the final race, the 4 x 400 relay. Ludington won the race by several hundreths of a second to win the race and the meet.

Daniel Romero led the way by finishing first in the 110 hurdles, the 300 hurdles, the long jump, and anchoring the 4 x 400 relay. Shawn Pettis won the 1600 run and the 800 run. Sophomore Jacob Burns turned in some strong performances in the 200 dash and the 4×200 relay. Triton Corrigan also had a strong showing in the 300 hurdles while Owen Hertel was strong in the 110 hurdles. Isaac Romero and Blake Taylor ran personal bests in the 1600 run and Carter Sherman in the 3200 run.

Nathan Burns set a personal record in both the shot put and discus. Luke Bradley set a personal record in the 400 dash.
