MUSKEGON — Ludington earned a hard-fought West Michigan Conference Lakes Division girls softball sweep at Orchard View on Tuesday, 17-13 and 12-11.

Sam Hanson gave up nine hits, seven walks and struck out nine over 6 1/3 innings in the first game to get the win. Olivia Parsons finished the final 2/3 and gave up two hits, one walk and struck out one.
 
Leading the Orioles at the plate were Sam Smeltzer, who was 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI, Rylee Hardenburgh, who was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Sabrina Ramirez with two hits.
 
Parson was the starting pitcher for the Orioles in the nightcap and went the first 2 2/3 innings. Hanson came in from the bullpen to finish the game and threw the remaining 2 2/3 innings to pick up the win. She surrendered one hit and two walks.
 
Brynn Fortner was 1-for-3 with a double to lead Ludington. Anna Genia added a hit and drove in two runs and Hardenburgh contributed a hit and three RBI.
 
Ludington (4-10 overall, 2-4 WMC Rivers) is scheduled to host Spring Lake in another conference doubleheader on Friday.
 
Orchard View travels to Shelby on Friday for a crossover game with the Tigers.
