NORTH MUSKEGON — Everything was clicking for the North Muskegon girls’ softball team in Tuesday’s conference doubleheader.

The host Norse swept the Mason County Central Spartans, 11-1 and 20-1, in a West Michigan Conference Rivers Division matchup.

Maddison Balon and Mattie Houseman collected multiple hits for the Norsemen in the first game and Audrey Brown stole three bases as the Norsemen played aggressively on the base paths.

Balon stepped into the pitcher’s circle for the Norsemen and gave up just two hits and one walk. She had 12 strikeouts.

She came right back and threw a no-hitter in the nightcap. She had eight strikeouts and allowed two walks.

The Norse broke the game open with eight runs in the fourth inning with Brown, Balon, Houseman, Mila Vantol, Chloe Packard and Bella Lang driving in runs.

North Muskegon has a road trip scheduled to Kent City for non-conference action.

Mason County Central travels to Montague for a conference matchup on Thursday.
