SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central hosted Onekama in a non-conference girls softball game Friday and posted a one-sided 13-3 victory.

Wren Nelson started the game on the mound for the Spartans against the defending regional champions and allowed three runs in six innings, two of them earned, seven hits and notched nine strikeouts.
 
Leading the way at the plate for the Spartans was Grace Weinert, who finished 2-for-3 and drove in four runs. She also picked up a stolen base. Aubrey Chye at 2-for-4, one run batted in, a stolen base and two runs scored.

Nelson aided her own cause with a triple and went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Riley Mast also contributed two hits and scored three runs, while Ayalin Davila and Maxie Green each had one hit.

Mason County Central travels to North Muskegon for a West Michigan Conference Rivers Division doubleheader on Tuesday.
