Mona Shores blanks Union in league soccer match; Norden pops in three goals for Shores

NORTON SHORES – The Mona Shores girls soccer team blanked Grand Rapids Union 7-0 in OK Conference-Green play on Tuesday.

Shay Norden had a solid game with a hat trick for the Sailors while Ali Trautner chipped in two goals.

Also, Ella Kinney and Ava Freye each added a goal.

Strong defensive play from Lauren Hylland, Ali Phillips, Molly Wolf and Makenna Odena helped limit Grand Rapids Union’s opportunities in the offensive end.

Jersey VanderWall posted her fifth shutout of the season, including three in conference play.

Mona Shores (5-1, 3-0) travels to Zeeland West on Thursday for a conference match.
