NORTON SHORES –The Mona Shores boys lacrosse team remained perfect on its run through league play with a 14-4 victory over Byron Center on Thursday evening.

“This was another big win for us,” said coach Murle Greer. “Byron Center has been on the radar as a top conference opponent who we have never beaten before.”

The Sailors were solid at both ends of the field against Byron Center.

“We were able to control the pace of the game on the offensive side which led to them having to play aggressively which led to penalties for them and extra-man opportunities for us,” Greer said.

The defense only allowed two settled goals.

“We were able to go in and out of different defensive sets which made it difficult for the Bulldogs to find any rhythm on offense,” said Greer.

Dylan Fett and Luke Beilhartz dominated the attack with five goals each. JJ Boos had two goals and Brayton Conrad added one.

Also, Noah Lepinski chipped in with four ground balls and two forced turnovers.

Goalkeeper Parker Hayward made 11 saves for the Sailors.

“Big saves like the ones he makes can really drain the confidence of the opposing offense,” Greer said.

Mona Shores (9-1, 7-0) will host Lakeview on Saturday afternoon.
