NORTON SHORES — The Mona Shores Sailors began conference play by sweeping a baseball doubleheader from Holland on Tuesday.

The host Sailors won the opener, 8-4, and the nightcap, 5-4.

In Game 1, Trevor Cunningham earned the win on the mound for the Sailors. Cunningham allowed four runs over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out 10 and walked one.

Jaden Thomas led the way offensively for the Sailors with three hits, an RBI, and a run scored. Brady Recknagel had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. 

 
In the nightcap, Recknagel earned the win on the mound. He allowed two earned runs while striking out eight and allowing one hit. Cunningham put the Sailors in front for good in with a lead off triple in the fourth and scored the go ahead run.
 
The Sailors improve to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
