NORTH MUSKEGON–The North Muskegon Norsemen used heavy hitting to defeat Ravenna twice in a West Michigan Conference doubleheader on Tuesday.

North Muskegon won the opener, 17-7, on the strength of three home runs, and the nightcap, 14-2.

In the opener, Ben Meyers, Denny Belmonte and Sam Gallo each belted a home run. Belmonte finished with four hits, four RBI and scored four runs. He also had a double. Gallo added a double, four RBI and scored two runs.  Troy McManus had two hits, one a double, and knocked in a run.

Jaxon Bean was the winning pitcher with 3 1/3 innings of work.

In the second game, Gallo belted another home run for North Muskegon. He had four RBI and scored three runs. John Caliendo had three hits, including two doubles, and scored three runs. McManus had two hits, one a double. Meyers had three RBI.

Freshman Logan Slimko was the winning pitcher. He threw six innings and allowed four hits, two runs and he struck out 12.
