MUSKEGON — The Oakridge Eagles scored six runs in the first two innings on Wednesday and defeated the visiting Whitehall Vikings 13-4 in six innings. The Eagles had fallen behind 4-0 after the top of the first inning.
 
The game was called after six innings due to lightning. The second game of the twinbill will be rescheduled at a later date.
 
On Wednesday, Kylee Willea was the winning pitcher. In six innings of work, she allowed one run, two hits and struck out five. She came on in relief of starter Kaelinn Jozsa in the first inning when the Vikings plated four runs.
 
Brenna Cabrera led the Eagles with three hits, two of which were doubles, and four RBI. Jozsa had three hits, one a double, and two RBI. Rylee Vanderputte had a double and two singles while Ahria Doornbos had three singles. Madison Clark had two hits, one a triple, and two RBI.
 
Megan LeaTrea had two hits to pace the Vikings.
 
Oakridge is now 7-1 overall, 3-0 in the West Michigan Conference.
