MUSKEGON–In a showdown of two of the area’s best softball teams, the Reeths-Puffer Rockets posted a 10-6 victory over the Oakridge Eagles.

The Rockets led 1-0 after one inning, but the Eagles scored two in the top of the third to take a 2-1 lead. Reeths-Puffer scored one in the bottom of the third to tie the game. Oakridge plated four runs in the top of the fourth on the strength of two home runs. Gracie Clark belted a three-run homer and was followed by Brenna Cabrera with a solo blast. It was Cabrera’s sixth home run of the season. Clark also had a two-run single.

Reeth-Puffer responded in the bottom of the fourth with two runs. Two runs in the fifth and four in the sixth put the Rockets in the driver’s seat.

Brook Buchan led Reeths-Puffer with three singles. Abbie Critchett, Megan Barnes and Kyleigh Bilek each had a double.

Mady Snyder pitched four innings and allowed seven hits with one strikeout. Lainey McDaniel came on and finished it off for the Rockets.
