Reeths-Puffer solid in baseball twinbill sweep over Grand Rapids Union

MUSKEGON–Strong pitching and solid hitting led the Reeths-Puffer Rockets to a doubleheader sweep of Grand Rapids Union on Tuesday.

The Rockets won the first game, 8-0, and the second game, 12-2.

In Game 1, Jaxon Whitaker and Quinn Alderink combined on the shutout for the Rockets. Whitaker finished with nine strikeouts. David Wilhelm had two hits to lead the Rocket offense.

In Game 2, Kyle Schlaff did not allow a hit, struck out four and walked one in two innings of work. Whitaker, Jack Yonkman and Caiden Theisen all came on in relief.

Trent Reichert had three hits to lead the Rockets.
