SHELBY — Fremont had a 1-0 lead at the half then broke the game open with three goals in the second in a 4-0 shutout of Shelby on the road in the West Michigan Conference.

Mia Clemence sent a corner kick to Addie Shields, who got the ball past the Tigers keeper for a header. 

Clemence contributed to the next Packers’ goal in the second half when she launched a corner kick that Riley Chase headed into the net to increase the Packers lead to 2-0.

Fremont’s third goal came several minutes later when Madde Mater nailed a shot that got past the keeper. Kaiya Flores provided the helper.

The final Fremont goal came on a penalty kick by Clemence.

Shelby had just one shot on goal, while the Packers peppered the Tigers net with 13 shots.

Hallie Snyder was in net for the Packers and made the save on the only shot she faced. Maya Ramos had nine saves for the Tigers.

Fremont (6-3-1 overall, 3-1 WMC) travels to Lakeview Friday for a non-conference game.

Shelby (4-6 overall, 1-3 WMC) is scheduled to host Kent City in non-conference action Friday.
