HART — Eli Workman pitched a complete game on Friday and led Manistee to a 7-2 victory in the first game of a twinbill against Hart.

Manistee also won the nightcap, 5-2.

Workman allowed one earned run over six innings. He surrendered four hits and struck out seven while issuing two walks.  

Manistee built a 4-0 lead with three runs in the top of the third inning before the Pirates got on the board in the bottom half.  

The Chippewas pounded out seven hits in the game, with Workman, Ethan Edmondson and Jaret Edmondson each producing one RBI.

Leading the Pirates were Blake Weirich with two hits, one RBI and one run scored. Ty Schlukebir was 2-for-3 with one run scored. Kyan Clark and Mitchell Slade each had a hit.  

Hart contributed seven errors in the field. 

In the second game, Carter Ramseyer led the Pirates at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run batted in. Kyan Clark also went 2-for-3 and scored a run. Eian Sawdy had a hit and drove in a run. 

Manistee (4-2) is scheduled to travel to Pine River on Monday.  

Hart (5-4) hosts Shelby in a West Michigan Conference Rivers Division doubleheader Tuesday.
