FREMONT — Fremont stayed in the hunt for the West Michigan Conference title Monday night with a hard-earned 1-0 shutout of Ludington at home.

The terrible weather conditions — wind, rain, snow and cold — generated a lot of scoring opportunities, but very few finishes and no goals.

After the two teams battled to a 0-0 tie at the half, the Packers punched in the only score of the game a minute into the second half.

Mia Clemence got her foot on the ball and sent a shot that skipped past the keeper on a free kick.

Fremont finished the game with a 12-5 advantage in shots on goal, and Hallie Snyder made five saves in net to make the one-goal lead hold up.

Cambria Bridon stood tall in net for the Orioles, making nine saves on 10 shots. Grace Ashley played the last 20 minutes in net for the Orioles and had four saves on four shots.

The Packers (8-3-1 overall, 4-1 WMC) are back in action Wednesday at Hart in WMC play.

Ludington (3-7-2 overall, 2-3-1 WMC) hosts Shelby in the WMC on Wednesday.
